I think its very clever to put two contrast things together. The same idea behind making a rat (or mouse...) a lovable character or a dancing hippo.
Joanne drew the one on the left, the other one is my drawing. Just to show her how she can push it abit further and adding depth to the character. I think its a tail she is going for, but the circle on it make me think tentacle... so yea..
